This role will be based in the beautiful outdoor visitor welcome sites at Llanbedrog, Porthor and Porthdinllaen, and you'll have good local knowledge of the Llyn Peninsula.

What you'll be doing

Visitors are a vital part of what we do. As the Membership & Visitor Welcome Assistant it’s your role to ensure that the welcome our visitors receive is perfect, friendly and informative, setting them up for an amazing experience for the rest of their day. You’ll mainly be responsible for collecting car park entry fees and managing the parking flow at our outdoor visitor welcome sites at Llanbedrog, Porthor and Porthdinllaen.

You’ll take the time to listen to and understand our visitors’ needs and go the extra mile to exceed their expectations. You’ll develop an outstanding knowledge of Pen Llyn and explain our work in a manner that will make our visitors feel relaxed and welcome. You’ll also promote the benefits of membership of the National Trust and lead a range of activities and events for families and children. In addition, you’ll ensure high standards of presentation across our coastal sites, carrying out litter picking and toilet cleaning. You’ll be comfortable regularly working your share of weekends and bank holidays.

Who we're looking for

To be fantastic in this role you’ll need:

  • Experience of working face to face with the public
  • Experience of working to measurable targets
  • A proven willingness to go the extra mile to exceed your customers’ expectations
  • The ability to respond calmly to various pressures, difficult situations and complaints
  • Proactive team work with a flexible attitude
  • Good understanding of the National Trust and what we do
  • Basic record keeping and cash handling skills
  • Basic Welsh language skills e.g. an ability to pronounce local place names
  • Great attitude with a willingness to learn new information, particularly regarding the Welsh language and local area
