Medical Secretary - Godalming

£12 per hour

Working Hours: 12pm - 8pm

Our client is seeking a Medical Secretary to provide an essential support role to all Senior staff, as well as to the business with internal and external communication. Maintaining effective management of administration work, working in conjunction with reception, finance and clinical staff members. Accurate and professional written and spoken communication with all external parties, including timely reporting to all referring clinicians about patient progress and treatment on behalf of clinicians.

Specific duties:

  • To effectively and accurately type reports from audio, using dictation software (Express Scribe) - with good touch typing speed
  • Proof read all clinical reports from surgeons, paying particular detail to spelling, grammar and accuracy of medical terminology and information
  • Maintaining a complete paper trail of communication from internal and external sources on patient records - allowing for quick and easy access to historical information
  • Supporting clinicians in diary management, errands, external appearances, note taking, proof reading of documents and any other required tasks
  • Making sure that all clinical reports are sent in a timely manner (ideal deadline of 48-hour turnaround from patient appointment to report being written and sent to referring clinician)
  • Supporting receptionists and finance team by keeping accurate records and up to date patient information, providing information and documents to these departments for their use
  • A complete understanding and respect of data protection protocols, maintaining confidentiality at all times in a professional manner
  • Speaking on behalf of the company in a professional manner
