Medical Resource Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Medical Staffing Team. We are looking to appoint enthusiastic and motivated people preferably with previous medical staffing experience to work as part of a team providing a Rota service and support to medical staff and senior managers. This post is full time 37.5 hours per week.

We are a busy department with competing demands so looking for those able to manage their time effectively and work to deadlines.

The post involves the provision of a robust operational Medical Staffing service to the Trust with responsibility for specific areas of work particularly relating to medical staff rotations, rota management; sourcing of medical locums to ensure effective staffing levels at all times. You will gain a wide understanding of how an acute hospital functions with regular interaction with the Multi-Disciplinary teams.

The postholder will also be required to participate in the Medical Staffing Department out of hours on call rota on weekends and Bank Holiday basis, providing support to departments and on-site managers in the provision of cover of medical staff.

The Trust is currently embarking on the implementation of a new multi-functional IT system for the effective utilisation of its medical workforce resource. As a team member you will play a fundamental part in this implementation; helping to create robust processes and procedures in line with local and national guidance.

There will be opportunities for education and development; working alongside the wider HR team and other colleagues within the Trust; you will have involvement in wider HR-related issues.

The successful applicant must possess:-

  • a good standard of education to GCSE Maths and English grades A–C or equivalent
  • an NVQ 3/Human Resources qualification or related subject or equivalent level of HR/Medical Staffing experience
  • excellent communication/interpersonal skills with the ability to engage positively with individuals at all levels
  • ability to present ideas both verbally and in writing
