Job SummaryWe have an exciting opportunity for an administrator to join our dedicated team at Peninsula NHS Treatment Centre in Plymouth. Achieving an "outstanding" rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the treatment centre is the first independent sector treatment centre to achieve this and are in the top three per cent of hospitals in the country to receive this rating. Peninsula NHS Treatment Centre offers high quality elective surgery for the local populations of Devon and Cornwall, specialising in hip and knee joint replacements, shoulder repair, hand and elbow surgery, foot surgery and minor orthopaedic procedures. Responsible ToPatient Services ManagerKey ResponsibilitiesAs a medical records clerk you will be responsible for providing a high quality, seamless service to staff in all departments by ensuring that patient records are prepared in a timely and accurate manner. You will take responsibility for retrieving, requesting and tracking patient notes both internally and externally as well as for managing medical records within the Data Protection Act and Caldicott Guidelines. Key duties will include: • Accurately preparing patient records for outpatient clinics, theatres, wards and review clinics within set deadlines and timescales • Ensuring that relevant information, investigation results and x-rays are always available prior to patients attendance and are prepared in accordance with standards set • Scanning completed medical records onto Maxims and follow appropriate paper record destruction process • Managing the correct dispatch and distribution of case note As part of the larger administration team there will be times when you will be called on to work in other areas, assisting colleagues with patient bookings, reception, filing and general administration tasks.
