Medical Laboratory Support Worker

Applications are invited for the post of Medical Laboratory Support Worker to work in the Blood Sciences department of the Clinical Support Care Group at Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro. Appropriate training will be given as required. The successful candidate will be initially based within the Haematology department but will be required to work across Blood Sciences.

We require a committed and enthusiastic MLSW to work in this busy teaching hospital within our Laboratory team. This is a highly automated laboratory running three Advia 2120 full blood count, three ACLTOPS coagulation and two Erytra blood grouping analysers. The successful candidate will be expected to rotate through the laboratory sections as required.

This is an exciting time within pathology at Royal Cornwall Hospital as we move towards a brand new integrated Blood Sciences laboratory.

This is a fulltime post working 37.5 hours per week.

A flexible attitude to working hours is essential. Hours are currently within a framework of 08:00 - 20:00 including weekend and Bank Holiday working, but future shift working may include night duties.
