Based in the busy Biochemistry Department you will work as part of the team carrying out reception sorting numbering and initial processing of blood and urine specimens that are delivered to the laboratory.
You will be a tidy and careful worker able to work steadily and reliably even when extremely busy.
You will be educated to minimum SVQ/NVQ level 3 or possess and HND/HNC in Biomedical Sciences or other life science subject. During the training period (3-6 months) you will be required to work at mutually convenient times during the core time of Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm. Once trained you will work on the 1pm-9pm shift until the proposed 24 hour shift working pattern is introduced. You will be required to complete the Healthcare Support Workers Mandatory Induction Standards workbook within the first 6 months.
Hours 37.5per week 1pm to 9pm Monday to Friday + one Saturday morning in five
Introduction of 24 hour shift working hours 37.5 hours on average per week over 7 day period.
Car owner/driver is preferable
