Our client specialises in Business-to-Business Events across several specialist sectors. Their market value has increased more than 200% in the last 4 years and they now employ nearly 1,000 people across sales, marketing and operations in the UK. Their offices are a fun and friendly environment in which to work though you are clearly expected to work hard whilst having fun.

The current live roles are in the gaming sector, one of the world’s fastest growing markets. The events bring together all the major players in the gambling world - their London event alone is the biggest gaming event in Europe and they have plans to launch in new destinations in the coming months.


You will be speaking to current and future clients about the events you offer, offering them a range of options on stands, sponsorship and branding. Much of the new business comes to you as their events are so popular but you should be prepared to pick up the phone to generate new business from new clients as and when required.

Most of the work will be telephone based from our client’s office in south west London though you will be expected to attend your own events to meet clients and prospective clients.

The Sales Talent Matrix: Does this sound like you?

Knowledge: An understanding of professional communication and, preferably, some experience in a sales role. Whilst those without experience are welcome, it’s likely that you have sold a Business-to-Business service or product for at least 6-12 months.

Attitude: This is the most important element as most of the rest can be taught. You should be warm, enthusiastic and positive in your outlook. Keen to learn and happy to work hard, you’re probably a sociable cove too.

Skills: Strong communication skills, both spoken and written; an understanding of how to ask good questions and to pick up on the clues given in the answers; it would be helpful if you have an appreciation of some sort of sales structure.

Habits: Well-organised; punctual; proactive; a hard worker and a willing learner.


On offer is a salary of £24-28,000pa with a commission structure plus a team bonus scheme giving on target earnings of £35,000- £40,000pa. In addition, there are various company benefits (subject to a qualifying period) such as pension contributions, private healthcare and access to a company gym.
