Mechanical Supervisor - Domestic and Commercial Gas

Pontoon has an excellent opportunity to join one of the UK's leading Utility companies based in the Midlands as a Mechanical Supervisor, looking over and supporting Domestic and Commercial projects as well as managing different Gas Fitters and tradesman on site.

Job Purpose:

The provision of multifuelled heating solutions hot water and processes to Schools, Council Building and Authorities through the effective management of opportunities including:

  • Client liaison and relationship management;
  • Large project (£0-10m) opportunity interpretation and delivery;
  • Project management through to final completion

Accountabilities

  • Exemplary client relationship management to contribute to the drive in business growth;
  • Manage appointments and site visits to meet client deadlines and project requirements;
  • Interpret, contribute to and manage installation design solutions, technical specifications, commercial propositions and pricing solutions for complex installation projects to meet client requirements;
  • Engage with external sub-contractors, suppliers and design teams to interpet the delivery of detailed project specification and scope;
  • Ensure that Health, Safety, Environment and Welfare is managed and maintained in accordance with policy and industry legal requirements;
  • Management of safety related incidents, deviations, non conformances or corrective actions are effectively managed;
  • Financial cost control of projects to deliver targeted revenue, cost minimisation, and projected operating profit;
  • Manage sub-contractor or direct delivery resources and implement resource contingency arrangements to meet client and project delivery programmes and commitments;

Experience:

  • APM project management qualification or equivalent with a full working knowledge of implementing and delivering to the defined project lifecycle
  • Thorough understanding of what delivers service excellence in the customer journey
  • Customer Service, Technical and Project Management within a remote field environment
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of the business strategy
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of exemplary safety practice
  • Understand good housekeeping for data protection and information security requirements
  • Commercial Know-How: Managing for value - understanding the key aspects of project value engineering, cost control and profit enhancement
  • A robust technical background in complex multi-fuel commercial heating and hot water systems and solutions is essential
