Job Title: Mechanical Fitter (Training and Upskilling to Dual Skilled) Job Location: Crewe, Cheshire Shifts: Mon-Fri 8am 4.30pm (With Flexibility to work shifts) Hourly Rate: £16.06 PAYE / £20.79 Umbrella (Training rate - first 6 weeks approx.) £18.25 PAYE / £23.65 Umbrella (Post training) Hours Per Week: 37 Duration: Ongoing Start Date: November/December 2025
Shorterm Group are recruiting for over 40 Mechanical Fitters who are looking to upskill to a Dual Skilled fitter for long term contracts for one of their major clients to carry out mechanical overhaul of Rail Bogies and electrical and wiring overhaul on HVAC systems at the clients Crewe Depot.
You DO NOT NEED to have a strong engineering background as other Practical Trade Backgrounds will be considered and PAID TRAINING will be provided.
Position Summary: Successful candidates will be expected to carry out the following: * Bogie Overhaul, damage Repair and engineering * Wheel set overhaul, repair and analysis * HVAC overhaul, damage repair and engineering * Read Electrical Schematics and Technical Drawings
