Our client is a leading manufacturing business and due to their continued success Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Mechanical Fitter / Maintenance Engineer.
The successful applicant will undertake mechanical maintenance activities at our client's busy manufacturing plant in Chesterfield.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager you will be responsible for mechanical maintenance and repair activities at a busy foundry and machining plant.
We are seeking a skilled mechanical maintenance engineer preferably with previous mechanical fault find and repair experience in heavy industry manufacturing environment.
You will plan, organise the mechanical maintenance team to ensure the effective delivery of planned and reactive maintenance for a highly automated production plant.
- Mechanical fault find and repair conveyors, screens, cnc machines, robots, furnace, shot balsting equipment
- Gearboxes, pumps, valves, motors, shafts, bearings etc etc
- Hydraulics, pneumatics
- Welding / fabrication
The successful candidate will have previous mechanical fitter / maintenance experience ideally in a heavy industry environment such as waste & recycling, steel, quarry & aggregates, mining or foundry sectors.
We are seeking applicants who have good mechanical fault find and repair skills. and ideally with mig/stick welding capabilities.
Preferably NVQ level 3 trained engineers but time served will be considered.
Hours of work:
12 hour shifts (4 on 4 off days / nights)
Excellent basic salary + OT
