Mechanical Engineer - Food Manufacturing - Wrexham - £48,000

About the company

Our client is a national food manufacturer with eight sites across the UK, who is looking to add a Mechanical Engineer to the engineering team based at the Wrexham site. This is a hands-on and varied role where you’ll be part of our on-site engineering team, ensuring the site operates safely, efficiently and reliably.

Mechanical Engineer - The Details
  • Salary up to £48,000
  • 4 on / 4 off (Day Shift 6am – 6pm)
  • Full-time, Permanent
Mechanical Engineer - Responsibilities
  • Carrying out planned, reactive, and preventative maintenance on production and intake systems.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving breakdowns, minimising downtime.
  • Liaising closely with mill colleagues to support continuous production.
  • Driving continuous improvement in efficiency, safety, quality, and performance.
  • Ensuring accurate maintenance records are kept for compliance and safety.
Mechanical Engineer - Requirements
  • A recognised qualification/apprenticeship in mechanical and electrical engineering.
  • Minimum 17th Edition certification (18th Edition desirable).
  • Experience in industrial engineering environments with both short and long-term project delivery.
  • Good knowledge of Star Delta, PLCs and Safe Isolation processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well within a team.
