Your new role
To maintain rides, equipment and facilities, within the park, to a high standard of safety and efficiency and to fully participate in the execution and planning of the annual winter maintenance and certification programme, including all associated record keeping as demanded by HSE guidance notes and statutory requirements.
Key tasks include:
- To carry out daily pre-opening safety checks and maintenance tasks on rides, equipment and facilities in-line with laid down procedures & good working practises.
- To respond to any breakdowns and ensure that work is completed safely, efficiently and in-line with department procedures.
- To carry out maintenance tasks competently, to the satisfaction of the customer and within the specified time scale.
- To complete documentation relating to statutory safety checks and maintenance work undertaken on rides, equipment and facilities as described in department procedures/HSE guidance notes.
The contract is 40 hours per week averaged over the year. Work is to a 7 days on and 3 days off or 7 days on and 4 days off shift pattern. Start and finish times will be variable to reflect the operational demands of the business through out the year.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will have to have completed a recognised apprenticeship or hold a recognised qualification e.g. City & Guild, BTEC, NVQ level 3, ONC in a mechanical engineering discipline as a minimum qualification.
A high standard of mechanical engineering knowledge will be required for this position; this will have been gained from working in medium to heavy industries for 3 or more years.
Have previously had some experience with working face to face with the public along with working alongside "none skilled" employees.
Experience of working in a Safety Critical environment and a strong understanding of fault finding, reactive maintenance and planned maintenance. Experience of working within a large multi discipline team.
