These are contract positions and are ongoing as per customer requirements.
Working 5 days a week. (proposed to be 52 weeks with possible extension) Rate of pay is £17.10 Limited Company or £13.34 Paye Brief outline of job: Experience in safe use of Maintenance & Testing of Electrical (and/or) Mechanical Ground Support Equipment, knowledge of Ground Power Units, Hydraulic, Pneumatic & Refrigeration systems. About DECA DECA is an Executive Agency of the MOD, which providing UK MOD with assured access to through-life maintenance, repair, overhaul and upgrade services and capability for an extensive range of electronic and electro-mechanical equipment across defence on military platforms such as Tornado, Typhoon, Lynx, Chinook, and the new QE II Aircraft Carriers. DECA’s sites in Sealand and Stafford, as well as deployed teams across the UK and overseas, continue to provide value for money services to both MOD and industry that increase equipment reliability and overcome obsolescence issues on in-service and legacy equipment. DECA has recently been assigned as the global repair, maintenance, overhaul and upgrade hub for F-35 avionic and aircraft components. Post Background This post is based at our Stafford site where DECA provide a diverse bespoke service with the capability to deliver turnkey projects in response to our customer requirements. We are seeking a dynamic, innovative individual capable of working on their own initiative with minimal supervision, with experience of maintenance, repair, overhaul and upgrade of powered mobile plant and airfield support equipment; such as ground power units, hydraulic, pneumatic, refrigeration, cryogenic and electrical systems, possessing the following qualifications / experience: Essential Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship, or equivalent. C & G Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Levels I & II, or equivalent. Proven experience of maintenance and repair of powered mobile plant and airfield support equipment. Desirable A functional trade qualification, such as 17th Edition Wiring Regulations, or C&G Refrigeration (F-Gas) Level 2. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be a good team player with problem solving skills and have a proven record of delivery to set timescales. Read and interpret technical equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service, diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.The postholder will be required to comply with DECA Equal Opportunities Policy, DECA’s Quality Manual, Health, Safety and Environmental policies, and Local Procedures.
