Mechanical Design Engineer - Clitheroe - Salary £30,000 - £35,000

My client is a market leading organisation and they are currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join them on a permanent basis.

Working within a complex engineering environment the Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for both full life cycle product development from development of concept/identification of need, to the design and testing of solutions, and transitioning the product into production, as well as enhancing the current product range including modifications, fixes, specials and Design for Cost exercises.

In order to be considered for this position candidates need to have proven Mechanical Design experience using a top end 3D CAD package such as Solidworks, Creo, Inventor, Solid Edge etc. In addition to this candidates need to have proven experience developing products from initial concept to completion, as well as a strong background in making improvements to existing product ranges. Candidates need to have gained this experience in a mechanical engineering / precision engineering / capital equipment / Mechanical equipment environment. It would be advantageous to have experience in any of the following: Design for Cost, Value Engineering, designing moving parts, complex mechanism design, special purpose machinery design, high-speed machinery design, design of rotated parts, automated machinery, belt drives, gear drives, pneumatic systems, drive systems, conveyor systems, servo motors, motion controllers, vision systems etc. It would also be advantageous to hold a formal qualification i.e. HND / HNC or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related subject.

The position of Mechanical Design Engineer is commutable from Blackburn, Burnley, Sawley and surrounding areas.
