Mechanical Design Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a successful business that operates across the UK and Europe manufacturing combustion systems. Competitive salary and excellent employee benefits available

The Role

The successful candidate will be involved in projects from initial concept through to delivery with a design team to support them. The Design Engineer will be working with metallic, non metallic and synthetic materials designing precision machined pressure vessels and various tooling. other duties include:

  • Using Creo 4 for 3D modelling
  • Creation of detailed production drawing conforming to relevant standards
  • Modelling and reporting mechanical properties
  • Liaising with customers, manufacturing, suppliers and other relevant parties regarding projects
  • Working to strict deadlines

The Candidate

  • The successful candidate will have at least 3 years experience working in a precision engineering design function and worked with pressure vessels.
  • Working knowledge of Creo 4 or similar design software is essential
  • Qualified to at least HNC in Mechanical Design Engineering is essential. Degree qualifications would be preferred
  • Experience working with various materials would be preferred
  • Previous working experience to BS8888 standards would be essential
  • Ability to communicate at all levels is essential due to the nature of the role
