ROLE- Mechanical Design Engineer


TERM- Permanent

SALARY- £23,000- £28,000 per annum (Please advise what you're looking for)

My client design and manufacture a range of fabricated equipment and systems and they are looking to take on a Mechanical Design Engineer on a permanent basis in the Surrey area.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

  • Degree qualified (BEng or BSc or higher) in Mechanical Engineering
  • Ideally 1 or more years' experience working within a similar design position within a manufacturing environment so there are existing hands on skills transfer
  • Knowledge of and proficiency with using Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks CAD software
  • Good knowledge of different materials and processes including fabrication/ welding / sheet metal
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to work well alone as well as part of a team

As the Mechanical Design Engineer your main duties will include:

  • Producing designs/ drawings as required using Autodesk Inventor
  • Producing these for both quotations and customer approval
  • Also modelling parts and assemblies
  • Updating files from SolidWorks format to Autodesk where needed
  • Using simulation functions within the software to carry out structural analysis
  • Liaise with customers at their sites when required to take down further details and measurements
  • Supporting colleagues and working with a Senior Design Engineer
