Mechanical Design Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a small and friendly design consultancy team.

We are a design consultancy delivering comprehensive project management services. Producing a wide range of design drawings, from layouts and general arrangements to detailed fabrication drawings, for material handling systems, process plants, and mechanical equipment.

This is a very exciting time for the business, growing year on year. This is a brilliant opportunity for the right Design Engineer to help us grow further.

About the Job

  • Develop design documentation: 3D models, 2D drawings, schematics, calculations
  • Produce supporting materials: certification dossiers, quality plans, manuals
  • Design with precision to meet technical, safety, and client expectations
  • Collaborate across disciplines and with suppliers
  • Maintain high standards in quality, delivery, and budget control

About your skills and Experience

  • Plant layouts and materials handling systems (silos, conveyors, dryers, etc.)
  • Structural and steelwork design (portal frames, access platforms, etc.)
  • Pipework design and detailing
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, Tekla, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office

About the Package

  • Salary: £45,000 per annum
  • 25 days holiday, plus bank holidays
