Vehicle Technician / Mechanic (Level 3)

Location: Wantage
Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 (depending on experience)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm

Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced and qualified Level 3 Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join a well-established and busy workshop in Wantage. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician looking to work in a professional, supportive environment with a strong pipeline of work.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out a wide range of mechanical and diagnostic work on various makes and models
• Perform major vehicle repairs, including:
  
  • Clutches
  • Cambelts / timing chains
• Conduct routine servicing, maintenance, and inspections
• Diagnose faults using appropriate tools and equipment
• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and within allocated timeframes
• Maintain accurate job records and complete relevant documentation
• Work in compliance with health & safety regulations and workshop procedures
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and, where required, customers

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
• Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic
• Strong technical knowledge of vehicle systems and diagnostics
• Experience carrying out clutches and cambelts is highly desirable
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Full UK driving licence

Desirable (Not Essential)

• Qualified MOT Tester
• Experience with a variety of vehicle brands (including modern and older models)
• Familiarity with diagnostic software and workshop management systems
