MDT Coordinator / Patient Tracker

Posted 18 September by NHS Business Services Authority

An opportunity has arisen within our enthusiastic and dedicated Cancer Services team as a full-time MDT Coordinator/Tracker.

The successful candidate will manage and track referrals for patients with suspected and confirmed cancer to ensure that local and national cancer pathways and targets are met. The role is responsible for facilitating and coordinating cancer site MDT meetings on a weekly basis. They will be working as part of a team of MDT Coordinators and trackers, who are committed to providing a first class service for patients in a fast-paced environment. They will also be a core and valued administrative member of the multi-disciplinary team and therefore be able to communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues from a range of staff groups and hospitals.

As the role is multi-functional and works within tight deadlines, the ideal candidate will be able to work on their own initiative and be both systematic and organised. The role involves using a number of electronic systems and minute-taking so a high standard of IT skills and excellent typing ability is essential. As the candidate will be working as part of a dedicated team, flexibility and a willingness to cover and help their colleagues is crucial. Working hours can include early mornings and evenings, in order to meet the needs of the service. We are currently committed to agile working and therefore the candidate should be able to work from home for part of the working week. Please note that this role does not involve any face-to-face patient contact.

Overall we expect the successful candidate to be enthusiastic, conscientious, be sensitive to the needs of patients on cancer pathways, and passionate about patient care.
