NHS Professionals run the temporary work placements at Princess Alexandra Hospital and we are looking for a MDT Coordinator. NHS Experience is Essential.
Job type: Temporary 6 weeks ( possible extension)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week.
Shift Pattern: Mondays - Fridays, 9am - 5pm

What will your duties and responsibilities be?
This is a skilled role. Require someone who has sound knowledge of NHS.
- You must be well organised be able to use Microsoft Excel and Outlook
- This is a busy department. Must be able to work under pressure, ability to delivery to tight deadlines.
Use all necessary IT systems - PAS, CRIS, Pathweb, etc. - to obtain all relevant information ahead of meetings.
To support Cancer MDTs, working with Consultants and other clinicians in the delivery of high quality service to patients and the attainment of cancer waiting times; in particular to the provide support to the MDT meetings, including gathering of information, data inputting during and after meetings, and the carrying out of agreed actions; to work closely with the Cancer Nurse Specialist, arranging appointments for patients, liaising with colleagues at all levels across the Trust and with patients as necessary; to track and navigate patients along their care pathways, working with other Trusts as needed; to update Cancer Waiting Times data, and gather audit data; to be actively in the Peer Review quality process.
To implement processes that support MDT Meetings, ensuring all necessary information and data is brought to the meetings
To manage MDT meetings and provide secretarial support at meetings
To implement actions agreed during MDT meetings, in conjunction with colleagues.
To collect patient data and information using all necessary electronic and other systems, including national audits and COSD (Cancer Outcomes and Services Data Set).
To track and navigate patients along the care pathway using CIS-Infoflex IT system, ensuring patients are seen and treated within target times.
Liaise closely with Cancer Navigators to ensure a seamless approach to the pathway management.
With MDT Clinical Leads, Nurse Specialists, and other MDT members, meet CWT and Peer Review standards.
Management of Multi Disciplinary Teams & Meetings
To be responsible for co-ordinating the activities of the multi-disciplinary team, providing administrative facilitation of meetings including preparing, organising and circulating agendas, and recording outcome of MDT meetings
To put processes in place to ensure that all patients with cancer are referred to the MDT.
To collect names of patients to be discussed, contacting Radiology, Pathology and all other relevant departments.
Enter names on CIS-Infoflex, to print and distribute discussion lists to all members of MDT.
To inform MDT Clinical Nurse Specialist and Lead Clinician of newly diagnosed cancers to be discussed at an MDT meeting (in line with National Improving Outcomes Guidance)
To liaise with Radiology, Pathology, Endoscopy and Health Records to ensure that a comprehensive list of those patients formulated have all documentation present at the meeting.
To cross check all suspected cancer referrals against investigations and other diagnostic / reporting systems to ensure all cancer patients are identified
To process all documentation, and ensure radiology films, histology slides etc. are brought to the MDT meetings - to transport documents, to ensure access to IT systems for images, and reports - so that a full/informed clinical decision can be made.
Liaise with referring Trusts with regards to inter-Trust referrals and inherent any complexities - contact MDT Coordinator colleagues, Consultants and Nurses at other Trusts to whom referral information is sent.
Data Collection and Management of Cancer Waiting Time Targets
To be responsible for the efficient collection and entry of data of designated specialities, onto computerised systems - CIS-Infoflex
To meet deadlines as set by the Department of Health in the collection of waiting times data - this includes daily updating of information
To be responsible for the identification and correction of missing data and thus ensuring accuracy of the CIS-Infoflex, for designated specialty.
