Mathematics Graduate required for a secondary school in Bury, Greater Manchester.

Are you a recent Mathematics Graduate wishing to pursue a career in education, specifically secondary school teaching? Do you have a desire to support the learning of pupils within Mathematics?

If so, Teaching Personnel are currently working in partnership with a large mixed comprehensive Secondary school near to Bury town centre. The school wish to appoint a skilled Mathematics Graduate to work alongside the Maths department as a teaching assistant and support teachers and children within lessons and in preparation for exams.

It is preferential that the successful Maths Graduate has previous experience working with young people, either through tutoring or in a non-classroom based support role. Excellent knowledge of Maths and a passion for the subject is desired.

  • Full time and part time Maths Graduate teaching assistant positions available
  • Gain invaluable experience prior to completing PGCE/teacher training course
  • Earn up to £325 per week
  • Supporting pupils in class with work, and on a 1:1 basis
  • Reporting to the Head of Maths
  • Covering Maths lessons in the absence of the class teacher
  • Planning and arranging tailored sessions for pupils

Our partner Secondary school has recently been praised for an improving Progress 8 Score of +0.02, meaning all pupils are making the expected progress throughout their education. The role of Mathematics Graduate teaching assistant will be to ensure that all pupils are challenged and pushed to achieve in Maths, whilst having the suitable support network around them.

Located in central Bury, the large mixed comprehensive Secondary school can be reached via the M66 motorway. Public transportation links also provide a direct route to the school with tram and bus services from Rochdale, Bolton and central Manchester.
