Mathematics Teacher Part-Time

Mathematics Teacher Required - Monday, Tuesdays & Wednesdays - 3 Days PW
Start Date 9th April

We are seeking a Mathematics Teacher to start next month in a part-time cover position at a Secondary School in Milton Keynes with a OFSTED "good" rating that has many outstanding attributes. The school has excellent facilities and a very supportive department and leadership team. The post is for at least half a term and could be extended until the end of the academic year.

You will have sound practical and theoretical knowledge of KS3 and KS4 Mathematics curriculum, and the ability to adapt to various exam board criteria. To have experience of delivering to mixed ability KS3, KS4 and KS5 groups.

NQT's, QTS and QTLS Candidates welcome, along with Overseas Trained Teachers and Instructors.

Duties Include:

To assist in the development of appropriate syllabuses, resources, schemes of work, marking policies and teaching strategies in the Curriculum Area and Department.

To plan and prepare courses and lessons.

To contribute to the whole school’s planning activities.

To work with the Excellence Co-ordinator and Director of Studies/Head of Department to match work well to students’ needs
on Strategy, etc.

To promote the general progress and well-being of individual students and of the tutor group as a whole.

To register students, accompany them to assemblies, encourage their full attendance at all lessons and their participation in other aspects of Academy life.

To evaluate and monitor the progress of students and keep up-to-date student records as may be required.

To alert the appropriate staff to problems experienced by students and to make recommendations as to how these may be resolved.

To communicate as appropriate, with the parents of students and with persons or bodies outside the Academy concerned with the welfare of individual students, after consultation with the appropriate staff

To apply the Behaviour Management systems so that effective learning can take place.

To ensure that ICT, Literacy, Numeracy and school subject specialism(s) are reflected in the teaching/learning experience of students

To undertake assessment of students as requested by external examination bodies, departmental and Academy procedures.
