Mathematician

A fast paced Tech business who analyse code, statistics and probability are looking for a Mathematician to join their Maths and Stats team. This is a great role for a graduate looking for your first role, or a Maths Guru looking to progress, where training and support will be provided by a great team.

As part of your role at a Mathematician, you will be crunching the numbers to the nth degree and spotting areas of opportunity. You will have excellent communication skills and able to regurgitate your maths knowledge to business people so they can understand your findings and logic. Excel and Groovy will be the tools you use, although other tools are available. If Coding is of interest, this is also a great opportunity to turn your mathematical principles into algorithmic code.

Main Duties and Responsibilities for this Mathematician role will include:

  • Calculating basic games & bonus feature RTPs using combinatorics & probability theory
  • Running the Reels Tool
  • Verifying the configuration of games and algorithm in the code v PAR sheet
  • Ensure bonus features etc behave as they are described in the maths (as well as verified from code review)
  • Manually calculating statistics from simulations and producing the confidence intervals
  • Producing mathematical treatise based on the results of maths verification
  • Manually calculating statistics from simulations and producing the confidence intervals

  • Updating the contents of the SI workbook according to the maths verification work and results
  • Perform analysis and create report components
  • Investigation into mathematical abnormalities discovered in customer submissions to provide an understanding of the cause/effect.

To be considered for this Mathematician vacancy, applicants should be educated to degree level as a minimum within BSc Mathematics or Statistics, with excellent written and communication skills and the ability to work in a fast paced environment.

The interview process will involve a 3 stage process to include an initial telephone call, online assessment and face to face interview at the company head office based in Bangor, North Wales.
