A high-tech, global engineering group in Warwickshire are looking for a material planner to join their organisation on a permanent basis paying c£35,000 per annum.
They are looking for a Production Planner and Supply Chain Specialist RTP to create achievable production plans that ensure customer satisfaction and business requirements. You will manage the planning and purchasing of RTP portfolio, controlling an inventory of 6 weeks of raw materials and 4 annual stocks turnover. You will optimize the planning sequence and the development of systems and review customer and delivery plans on a monthly basis. This role is the central link to ensure full supply chain life cycle from the flow of raw materials, to product planning to delivery of finished product.
You will review order proposals for the Production Unit before planning and releasing, ensuring the order is evaluated in regard to priority, capacity, materials, product mix, batch quantity, lead-times etc. You will review and maintain production work centre schedules, ensuring that capacity constraints observed and updated, order loading is appropriately balanced and is in line with quarterly capacity planning targets and the schedules are achievable. You will ensure the delivery dates are accurate and regularly reviewed. You will expedite overdue manufacturing orders, articles and materials and liaise with customer service and Production to ensure high customer satisfaction. You will continually review stock levels with regards to safety stock levels, projected on-hand balance (effects of Forecast and customer orders)and obsolescence (awareness of product revision changes). You will maintain and continually update the Base data to ensure the most accurate information is available for the business.
You will be educated to HND Level with experience in a supply chain role and in an MRP/MRPII environment. You will have good written, verbal communication and Microsoft office skills. Knowledge of Movex or other MRP systems would be preferable. You will have excellent planning and organisational skills and have a proactive, logical and analytical approach to the way you work. You will have experience of work study/industrial engineering methods and continually seek improvements and be receptive to change. You will have a strong team working ethic, be customer driven and be ready to take ownership and responsibility. You will continually look to improve planning and systems and ensure delivery.
