Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Material Controller to join the team based in Pembridge, Herefordshire. You will be on a full time maternity cover contract (up to 12 months), with a highly competitive salary of £9.86 to £11.09 per hour (£16,407 £18,453 p.a. FTE).

Our client now has an exciting opportunity for a Material Controller to join them on a temporary basis (up to 12 months) covering maternity leave.
You will work as a member of the Purchasing Team, reporting to the Procurement Team Leader. Predominately the Material Controller role is responsible for the placement and scheduling of purchase orders for a range of chemicals used in the manufacturing process at our clients three UK sites and to maintain the correct inventory levels. Your duties will include:
- Reviewing MRP and reacting to changes in raw material requirements; communicating any changes to suppliers and obtaining confirmations.
- Identifying raw material requirements, raising purchase orders in SAP and distribution to suppliers.
- Ensuring PO data and pricing is correct.
- Recording and maintaining shipping schedules.
- Creating and maintaining inbound delivery monitoring in SAP.
The Material Controller role will require you to be able to demonstrate excellent communication and diplomacy skills as you will be liaising with other internal departments, suppliers and hauliers on a daily basis. The ability to build rapport and develop effective relationships is essential.
You will need to be self-motivated as this role can be challenging. You must be flexible, have an approachable demeanour and an ability to problem solve. You will have experience of working in a similar environment and be familiar with MRP.
You will be computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft packages and ideally you will be familiar with SAP.
