Masternaut are looking to recruit an experienced Buyer who will be able to process purchasing requisitions into purchase orders. The Buyer will be responsible for creating purchase order tracking systems, alerting management when orders have been filled and invoices from vendors have been issued, answering vendor questions and providing them with additional order documentation as needed. The successful candidate for this position has experience in the manufacturing industry and a strong understanding of supply chain management concepts.

Procurement spans a number of different product areas:

  • Technology components and data embedded in Masternaut products on a mix of commercial and open source licensing models (mapping, key software licenses, …)

  • Connectivity and other infrastructure necessary to host and run Masternaut products,

  • Hardware products manufactured for Masternaut by EMS partners, and sourcing of other third-party products.

    The Role

    The Buyer is expected to be a key contributor participates to the procurement strategy and negotiate with suppliers by using all leverages to drive performance.

  • Develop an efficient and accurate system for monitoring all open purchase orders

  • Deliver a weekly purchase order report to management that indicates the vendor invoice number for all closed purchase orders

  • Work with the inventory management team to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned purchase orders and report any back-ordered or missing products

  • Assist the Supply Chain Manager with maintaining proper inventory levels of materials used on a regular basis

  • Establish reliable lines of contact with field management team to ensure that all field purchase orders are accurate

    The Candidate

Based in Paris or London and reporting to the Head of Procurement and working closely with the other members of the supply chain team the Buyer will manage a portfolio of spend linked to specific suppliers within technology, software and hardware, supported by the senior Procurement team. They will develop strategies aligned to the business plan and to deliver deflation, obtain intelligence in countries by bench marking competition and market price and source of supply and working with the supply base with this knowledge/internal stakeholder. This person will manage local packaging and be involved in New Product Introduction by working with cross functional teams and supply base to ensure the correct supplier is selected and contractually aligned to deliver the project on time.

The buyer will manage monthly collation and reporting of data to provide market intelligence and cost evolution to the business, compare material feedstock and commodity trends to assist in mitigating cost increases. He/She will work closely with finance to align P&L results to purchase price variance and analyze spend within Europe. This position will require the candidate to be involved in all aspects of the business from sales and operations planning, new product and process development, to driving improvements in responsiveness and lead-times from the supply base. The performance of the Buyer will be defined and measured by objectives including; Product quality and timely availability, cost savings, and improvements in total working capital requirements.
