ABOUT THE ROLE

Our marketing team exists to attract strangers to TAB, and, by working with TABbers across the business, to help turn them into highly engaged clients, staff and fans over time.

With this diverse purpose in mind, you’ll find TAB’s marketers busy across every area of the company. Ambidextrous, hard-working and creative, our marketing team has been instrumental in supporting TAB’s growth. We work as an integrated part of our Demand CoP, constituting Marketing, New Business and Client Services, and as a key partner for other parts of the business, from our Engineering Community of Practice to our People team.

We want 2018 to be our best year yet. Building on our purpose and the great work we’ve done to date, our ambition is to see a step change in the impact and complexity of the marketing projects our team can tackle. Our goal is to take TAB’s rare and special story, and dramatically increase awareness and exposure over the next 12-24 months.

We need an expert marketer with the strategic and operational experience to jump in, and work across marketing activity to increase our strategic impact and operating efficiency.

You’re an experienced pair of hands when it comes to marketing, and you’ve earned your stripes by boxing clever and rolling up your sleeves, getting stuck in across the full marketing mix. With your love of data, you’re keen to use and develop your strategic insight further to help us optimise our channels and develop exciting new campaigns.

Whether it’s the real-world practicalities of nurturing prospects across long buyer journeys, setting up marketing automation flows for the first time, or working to get your brand on page one of SERPs - it’s all in your wheelhouse.

With lots of good lessons and practical knowledge already under your belt, you’re now seeking more opportunity to experiment, test and learn what marketing tactics work for a new and very special brand.

People are also very important to you, so you are also seeking opportunities to serve the development of others - deepening your mentoring skills to support our vision for the team.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • An experienced senior marketer, with 5+ years experience in developing creative and strategic marketing plans across long, complex buyer and customer journeys;
  • A digital marketing expert, equipped with expert knowledge of email marketing, SEO, Google Analytics and the marketing tech stack;
  • A highly organised project manager, able to balance different priorities to ensure the delivery of marketing activities on time and on budget;
  • A talented marketing strategist, with experience of delivering propositions and messages across a wide range of channels and media;
  • A pragmatic perfectionist, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage time, initiatives, and personal targets with minimal guidance;
  • An astute strategic thinker, able to identify opportunities and demonstrate the initiative to make them happen under your own steam;
  • Naturally charismatic, with a servant-leader mentality and the ability to build relationships with people across the company in order to forward marketing priorities;
  • Design-aware, with a good eye for implementing brand guidelines, and the fundamentals of good layout and presentation standards across a wide range of media.

It’s also important you have:

•A high degree of IT literacy, confident learning new tech and with good experience producing content in Adobe Creative Cloud (Ic, Id, Ps and Ai) and marketing automation;

•Event management expertise, from ideation through to on-the-day logistics;

•A hypothesis and data-driven approach to marketing.

INTERVIEW PROCESS

If you are invited to interview, it is likely to be a three stage process, with first and second rounds where you will meet members of the Marketing and broader Demand CoP. The third stage will be a presentation based on a task we will ask all shortlisted candidates to complete - further detail to be provided.

If you have examples of copy or content you have developed, or campaigns you can share, please do. We’re interested in examples that showcase your strategic thinking, delivery ability and a clear focus on metrics.
