Marketing Coordinator - Part Time

Role

The role will specifically support the Marketing Account Management team in promoting the university and academic courses, developing new and innovative ways to promote our products to a range of markets in an evercompetitive marketplace. The role will help us realise our ambition of TRANSFORMING LIVES + INSPIRING CHANGE. You will have responsibility for carrying out and supporting marketing projects/tasks across the university as identified within the departmental marketing plan with a strong focus on promoting Student Recruitment, Conversion and Progression activities. You will provide coordinated support on marketing practises to the wider University and external customers, delivering an outstanding customer focused service. You will support work around course promotion and upholding brand identity in all marketing activity - print creation, web development, photography, events coordination, school and colleges engagement (UCAS/HE fairs and School Visits), e-communications and facilitating recruitment events as required - Open Days, Applicant Visit Days and Interviews. The post also requires some administrative and repetitive work, as well as some telephonebased recruitment activity.

Duties and Responsibilities

To support face-to-face engagement events - open days, applicant visit days, applicant interviews and other University public facing events as necessary.

Coordinate campaigns across multiple marketing channels, providing support to the project leads in the Marketing Team.

To plan, review and monitor Marketing projects from start to finish, ensuring that all relevant teams (PR, Production, Events etc.) are included and kept up to date with deadlines and requirements.

To support the applicant interview process including administration and telephone-based work.

Attend departmental meetings on behalf of marketing as and when required.

To maintain and uphold brand guidelines in all marketing activity.

To develop compelling content for a range of digital platforms, including the University website and communications to prospective students.

In conjunction with colleagues advise and provide content for PR and Social Media activity as and when required.

In conjunction with colleagues ensure that all marketing materials comply with advertising standards, accessibility legislation, data protection, freedom of information, disability discrimination and any other relevant guidelines, policies and legislation.

Review and support new marketing methods.

To monitor and manage the performance of marketing activities against pre-agreed SMART objectives.

Informally supervise other staff, freelance marketing support or agency staff on occasion in support of relevant projects.

To learn about the Higher Education sector, the current challenges and their effect on marketing initiatives.

Deliver own work and work of any informal project team to established quality standards.

The post holder will be required to work some anti-social working hours in the context of a flexible working policy.

Person Specification

Educated to degree level or equivalent, or possessing relevant demonstrable experience in marketing to a high standard.

Track record of experience in similar or related role.

Track record of developing effective working relationships with a range of external and internal audiences.

Ability to work independently and use discretion to identify and resolve first line problems or difficulties, recognising when to refer to manager for assistance.

Proficient in IT skills in word based packages.

Effective numeracy and literacy skills.

Excellent attention to detail and an ability to proofread and check marketing materials.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a willingness to take part in telephone-based recruitment work.

Thorough knowledge and understanding of work practices, processes and procedures relevant to role which may include broader sector/commercial awareness.

Excellent time management skills.

Willing / able to support all University open days and conversion events which may involve working outside normal working hours and occasional overnight stays away from home.

Additional Information

This role is part time 19 hours per week, for 5 months in the first instance. The preference of work days would be a half day on Mondays and full days on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, however, this is negotiable and we can be flexible.
