Marketing and Content Executive



Essential skill requirements: Excellent design skills with experience using In Design/Adobe/Photoshop. Excellent analytical skills with experience of using excel and analytics packages

Key responsibilities/remit:


In this dynamic and varied role, you will be responsible for helping BorrowBox and customers build the best possible eBook, eAudiobook and physical audiobook collections for use by their members or students, by providing specialist advice on all of the amazing content that the company offers.

This fantastic opportunity is all about inspiring people to consume great literature. As you act as an ambassador for the BorrowBox platform, you'll be providing recommendations to librarians on choosing the best content to suit their members.

You will be working with some of the world's leading publishers as you help to bring their latest content to BorrowBox, as well as assisting new publishing partners begin the process of on-boarding as a supplier with BorrowBox.

You will be passionate about helping people experience great literature and this, combined with your love and knowledge of books, will see you delivering the highest levels of expert service and advice. Your own extremely well developed communication skills will allow you to effectively work with a wide range of customers and publishing partners. Or you are the person on social media shouting the praises of new digital content and the latest digital media.

Importantly, you will be dedicated to working collaboratively with others, and helping people find the solution that is best for them. Your flexible nature, and ability to quickly adapt to new challenges, will allow you to always have fresh ideas and effectively react to changes around you. In a fast paced, rapidly evolving environment, you will be able to juggle competing demands with ease and possess unparalleled time-management skills.

Whatever this may look like it comes down to one key fact: you're confident recommending great literature and are passionate about the latest trends in publishing and digital content.


  • Maintaining customer mailing databases

  • Creating and managing all physical email pulses to customers

  • Working to ensure all BorrowBox email pulses are effective and executed

  • Working directly with customers to promote titles and the brand


  • Attending Wednesday morning marketing meetings and communicating UK requirements and ensuring the UK has all physical and social media requirements arranged

  • Creating and maintaining a UK calendar of library events/occasions and ensuring we are reflecting these on social media and BorrowBox

  • Guardian of the company style guide and brand guidelines to ensure all written and visual communications within the brand are aligned with the company values

  • Copywriting and proof reading all communications

  • Send weekly update of UK news to AU

Content champion

  • Liaising with the editorial team to determine major releases in the UK schedule across library and trade

  • Create exciting campaigns for the biggest titles in association with the editorial team and the publisher

  • Effectively communicating the new titles to the sales team - organizing delivery of the sales kit and samples to the sales team

  • Liaising with trade press


  • Providing material for and communicating with, new BorrowBox customers to create and deliver exciting and effective BorrowBox Launches

  • Liaise with new and existing BorrowBox customers to discuss promotion and marketing of BorrowBox in their area on a regular basis

  • Providing detailed analysis and presentations for existing customers

  • Ensuring BorrowBox communication to users from the BorrowBox library is effective - from branded front pages to clear gateways

  • Work with content and customer service team to ensure library homepages and BorrowBox Connect reflect key seasons, major titles and key events

  • Work to deliver exciting curated content packages

  • Work on library profiling and creating opening collections

  • Monitoring reserve reports and liaising with customers to bring in additional orders

Social Media

  • Managing social media platforms, delivering on core values and scheduling activity

  • Helping to establish social media guidelines

  • Maximising social media engagement - ensuring we are following all the libraries (and they are following us) and establishing dialogue with key libraries with very strong social media presences e.g. Orkney, Lancashire

  • Working with libraries on social media for BorrowBox launches


  • Ensuring we always have stock of key lines and arranging deliveries to customers

  • Developing new collateral lines and discovering what customers want

  • Arranging printing in the UK as required

  • Organise door posters and other bespoke marketing

  • To work within defined budget and brand guidelines

  • Proof reading all new collateral and translations

Events, Campaigns and Conferences

  • Help manage library and trade conferences as required

  • Meet with Reading Agency and CILIPS to see how we can work closely together and develop initiatives - plus other library partnership companies such as City Reads

  • Develop a plan for library events and author visits

  • Measure effectiveness of all campaigns and launches we do


  • Work to promote both the audiobook category and the company, throughout the UK and AU

  • Use our contact list to establish a regular, core list of reviewers and bloggers that we send sound clips of new material to increase review coverage

  • Developing relationships with key media outlets

  • Look at national marketing activities that deliver value to libraries, trade and to the nda brand

    Liaise to ensure we have data and compiling general market data on audiobooks and digital content</p
