Marketing Communications Specialist
Our client is seeking an enthusiastic, eager to learn Marketing Communications Specialist / Group Communications Specialist. This is an exciting new role, supporting the Head of Group Communications in creating and delivering engaging communications to employees across the Group.
The role involves using all communications channels and methods including seeking interesting articles for the company magazine. This role would suit a graduate with a relevant degree or someone in their first or second internal communications role looking to make their next move.
This role is based in Marlow, Buckinghamshire and offers a very competitive salary and benefits
As a Marketing Communications Specialist / Group Communications Specialist your main responsibilities will include:
To support the implementation of the internal communications strategy, and plans for specific activities and projects
To manage the distribution of employee communications using the appropriate software
To evaluate the success of internal communications and communications vehicles, providing data to support decisions on the optimum vehicles and channels by communication type
Write and edit copy (ranging from news reports and features to interviews and letter text) for various internal publications and materials
Maintain, moderate and develop the Company’s information and presence on social media tools used by the Company e.g. Glassdoor, LinkedIn, Facebook etc.
Manage the distribution of the company magazine
To complete agreed programmes of work, meet challenging targets, deadlines and standards of performance as agreed with line manager
Work as a member of the team in a supportive, co-operative manner, sharing information and liaising with colleagues to provide support and cover when required such as processing, validating and coding invoices to correct budgets and uploading to financial systems for payment
Undertake any other duties, at the request of the manager, which are commensurate with this role
As a Marketing Communications Specialist / Group Communications Specialist your key skills and experience should include:
Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to understand what matters to an employee in order to write and produce materials which inform and engage our audiences, using a variety of channels i.e. internal magazine, e-newsletter etc.
A good working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop i.e. ability to re-size images and an understanding of the basics of coding (or the willingness to learn) are essential
Tech-savvy, with an interest in social media, plus an advanced knowledge of all Microsoft programmes including PowerPoint and Excel, able to work confidently with new programmes
Accurate keyboard skills for producing reports, spreadsheets and presentations to a high standard of presentation
Have an understanding of internal communication and its capacity to drive employee engagement.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy for proof reading.
Energetic and enthusiastic with a passion for employee communication.
Proactive and able to work on own initiative as well part of a team and able as to listen and take instruction.
Able to work to tight deadlines and flexibility to work odd hours on occasion.
Knowledge of or passion for internal/employee communications and engagement is an advantage.
