Job Title: Marketing and Sales Executive

Location: Hastings

Salary: £18k per annum

The company operates three attractions in Hastings; Smugglers Adventure - underground caves and caverns taking visitors on a journey back to the heyday of Sussex smuggling, Hastings Castle - fascinating castle ruins steeped in history dating back to 1066 and Blue Reef Aquarium - situated on the seafront in the historic Old Town of Hastings, has an array of spectacular 'underwater gardens'.

The Job Role:

Reporting to the Cluster Manager you will be responsible for the coordination of the Sales and Marketing for the Discover Hastings sites. Your goal will be to drive and grow visitor numbers and sales across the 3 attractions.

You will be responsible for advertising, social media and digital marketing and you will need to be flexible and enjoy working with the public. The role includes outreach and outdoor promotions via tourism fairs and events.

You will be the first point of contact and take sole responsibility for our extensive overseas group bookings for the Hastings sites. You will organise personalised guided tours, written confirmations, invoicing and provide relevant educational material for the visit.

The role will include responsibility for the Discover Hastings websites, ensuring they are up to date with all current information whilst also including event co-ordination, creating and working to budgets, record and report keeping. You will need to demonstrate a target driven approach to your work and an ability to forge and nurture business relationships.

There are also operational elements to this role as it includes being the Duty Manager on a shared rota basis across the 3 attractions as well as working across Front of House, Catering and Retail as and when required.

This is a full time post which involves working 5 days a week and often includes working weekends and bank holidays.

The Candidate:

This position will suit someone of a positive nature and who relishes a challenge as the role can vary from day to day. The person should be well organised and have relevant experience of sales and marketing in a similar role. A relevant qualification would also be an advantage.

The role will suit someone with great enthusiasm and a go getter, willing to be flexible and has a passion for sales and marketing and working with the public. The role includes social media and digital marketing campaigns; it is vital that the person has good experience of this and shows a strong understanding of this very important part of the role.

You should be ready for anything and be able to keep your finger on the pulse and react accordingly to media enquiries, including TV Filming, radio interviews and press relations. This is a fast paced role with ever changing priorities; the successful candidate should be able to work under pressure and enjoy working in a fast moving environment.
