Salary: £22.67 per hour
Full Time: 35 hours per week
Temporary: 2-3 months initially
We are currently recruiting on behalf of one of London's most prestigious Universities for an experienced Marketing Manager. The successful candidate will have relevant marketing experience within Higher Education, is experienced in managing budgets, including monitoring, planning and forecasting. With excellent written and verbal communication skills to be able to deal with a range of people in an appropriate and accurate manner.
Job Summary: To support and proactively input into improving and enhancing the development, implementation and management of an effective marketing and communications strategy for the Department as well as the Department's internal and external communications. The post holder will also take responsibilities for leading on the marketing of our Programmes, the Department's web presence, and managing the external web presences such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter, ensuring that the Department's key messages are disseminated effectively to a range of audiences.
To lead the Department in all marketing and communication activities in line with agreed budgets and targets, proactively inputting in to all elements of the strategy and budget. The post holder will also represent the Department Manager at relevant meetings, and will lead on specific projects, in agreement with the Department Manager.
To independently operationalise the strategy for promoting the Department's brand identity to a wide range of external audiences, including prospective students, prospective students, staff, employers, other Higher Education Institutions
To create an effective relationship with the Student Recruitment office to develop the Department's international marketing strategy to ensure that qualifications are the brand of choice among prospective students
To develop and implement an integrated marketing and communications strategy for the Department in accordance with the Department's Educational Strategy, including: The dissemination of key messages to the Department's different audiences
The co-ordination of press and publicity for conferences, publications and events Managing all communications relating to the dissemination of research output through books, journals and other media Market research, positioning and promoting the Department's portfolio of degree programmes Identifying segments of poor market penetration and devising mechanisms for overcoming this
To exhibit exceptional communication skills by, inter alia:
Writing effective copy
Creatively communicating complex and sometimes 'dry' data
Conveying a range of messages ranging from 'big picture' to highly detailed Reworking data as appropriate for presentation to different audiences
To formulate and lead on individual marketing campaigns and advertisements including researching and making proposals for effective activity and outlets.
To develop or student recruitment strategy and work with the Student Recruitment Office to define and research key customer segments to target for effective lead generation and manage communication with these segments within the Health Policy and Health Economics market.
To undertake independent data collection, research and benchmarking to inform and influence the marketing strategy and to produce reports as and when required.
