£38,888 per annum + benefits for 36 hours per week based in one of 3 locations: Kingston KT1 2DN, Lewes BN7 1UE, Brighton BN1 1JE.

This is a maternity cover role for a period of 12 months on a full-time basis starting in May 2018.

One of our amazing team members is going on maternity leave and so we are looking to recruit a Marketing and Brand Manager who can develop and lead all marketing, brand and communications activities within Orbis during this period.

The position of Marketing and Brand Manager is a highly valued and key member of the Orbis Team. By promoting the brand and reputation of Orbis, the role will contribute towards organisational growth and delivery of the Orbis business plan.

  • Marketing strategy, planning and reporting
  • Leading on communications and engagement strategies
  • Brand development
  • Co-ordinating attendance and exhibition space at trade-shows and award submissions
  • Overseeing the production of all marketing collateral e.g. presentations, leaflets, case studies, posters banner stands
  • Developing new and existing communication channels (Website, social media, intranet etc.)

In addition to the above you will be able to demonstrate;

  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • The ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships across a wide range of stakeholders
  • A flexible and adaptive approach to work
  • B2B and/or B2G marketing experience
  • Digital marketing experience.

About the Role

The Orbis Partnership

The Orbis partnership was founded by Surrey County Council, East Sussex County Council and Brighton & Hove City Council. Orbis provides a variety of transactional business services to its partnering organisations and external customers. Service areas include Business Administration, IT, HR, Procurement, Property and Finance.

The role can be based in any one of our 3 partner locations (Surrey, East Sussex or Brighton & Hove) and you will work across all three locations using a combination of remote working, maximising the use of technology and physical travel to the sites when required.

How you fit in

The Marketing and Brand Manager works closely with the Commercial and Programme Teams within Orbis. Both teams have commercial backgrounds with a mixture of private and public sector experience. The Commercial Team contributes to and supports the delivery of the commercial strategy within Business Operations and Orbis. 

The Team is made up of three specialist areas;

  • Marketing and Branding
  • Account Management
  • Commercial

Key areas of focus are to;

  • Build organisational reputation
  • Retain existing customers
  • Win new business

The Orbis Programme Team operates across the partnership and is responsible for the development of partnership strategies, performance management, communications, people and change.

Some of the Commercial Team’s key successes include building our Pensions Administration operation to be one of the largest Local Authority pensions administration providers in the country with over 270,000 members across 6 councils and London Boroughs. We provide payroll services to over 650 schools and academies which includes customers within the London Boroughs as well as surrounding counties. We have also brought in a structured approach to Account Management which sees key customers getting regular review meetings as well as organising events for our payroll customers.

In this role, you will own and manage the marketing strategy, help maximise the promotion of the organisation’s products, services and brand and become the go to expert in this area of the business. You will be a strong all round marketer, able to think creatively, and can write succinct copy and communications for a variety of activities.
