The Market strategy and change manager will act as the business lead to ensure the commercial interests of the wholesale business are maximised within retail (and other) markets by managing changes to market rules and market compliance issues associated with the Wholesale Retail Code, the Market Arrangements Code, the Wholesale Contract for Wholesale Services. The role is also expected to identify and manage opportunities for delivery of internal efficiencies and external market services opportunities. It is the key interface between the market change process and the wholesale businesses.

The client and the wider industry are responding to this challenge by becoming more market-focused, and implementing innovative changes needed to enable this competitive choice. Wholesale Market Services sits within the core of our business, and at the heart of the area that is required to facilitate the delivery of our business's new market obligations. We enable the sale of services to all companies licensed to operate in the water markets, this equates to over £400m of revenue that is managed within the team.
What will this role involve?
Effective management of market change proposals via the Codes Panel and maintenance of compliance with/changes to market rules in TWUL's interests.
Effective tracking of agreed code changes to ensure TWUL continued code compliance by managing business leads and change management resource deployment to ensure business change aligns with market change.
Managing compliance issues and recommending effective steps to address key issues by maintaining and demonstrating compliance with non-discrimination requirements.
Identifying internal opportunities/synergies with market services capabilities.
Identifying external opportunities to sell wholesale and market services to third parties.
What are we looking for?
We are seeking an individual with strong commercial awareness and change management capability, as well as demonstrable team leadership skills. The successful candidate will ideally hold good market knowledge and commercial awareness of the changes occurring in the water sector, as well as best practice in stakeholder engagement. The individual will have impeccable communication and presentation skills with the ability to build effective internal and external relationships to further the clients' interests. Previous experience of operating within a market framework is essential as is a track record of delivering change in a complex regulatory and operating environment. Experience of working in a utilities/water organisation is desirable but not essential.
This role is based in Reading, only minutes from Reading train station and 25 minutes from London Paddington. We are offering an annual salary of up to £60,000, depending on skills and experience, alongside a highly competitive bonus, car allowance, private healthcare and an excellent pension scheme.
