Manufacturing Technician

Role: Manufacturing Engineer (Composites)

Location: Bristol

Contract: 12 month contract

Salary: Negotiable for the right candidate

Hours: Mon- Fri 40 hours per week

The individual will need to have significant composite manufacturing and conceptual tool design experience within an R&D environment.

Job Spec

The Manufacturing Engineer will act as a consultant to the client to support the client to carry out the manufacture, data capture and learning. During the development activities, the Technical Specialist will work with technicians and RE’s to provide coaching, mentoring and leadership to elicit the transfer of his or her knowledge and experience.

During this process, it will also be likely necessary that the Technical Specialist gets involved in document compilation, design scheming and part manufacture on an as required basis to support the team. The Technical Specialist will also be part of the review team that reviews the detail parts once the client has manufactured them.

Where required, the Technical Specialist will be requested to provide concepts, ideas, guidance and technical inputs and outputs to enable the delivery of the specified projects as defined below.

The Technical specialist is expected to act as coach to the clients staff and ensure a transfer of knowledge and experience is provided throughout the process of engagement.

What a standard day would look like

· Technical leader of composites manufacturing

· Writing technical and manufacturing instructions

· Researching and developing new composite materials

· Cross functional working between Manufacturing & Design

· Complete part life cycle planning from concept – finished part

· Continuous improvement

· Project planning

· Developing DFMEA, PFMEA,

· Using MCRL and TRL tools

· Design for Experiment writer
