Manufacturing Technical Operator
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Process/ Technical Operator to join our client's team near Huntingdon. This is a full-time, permanent role with an attractive salary of up to £31,000 alongside a wide range of company benefits on offer! You will have a flexible attitude, demonstrable experience of problem solving and be able to work calmly under pressure. Own transport is essential due to location. You will be working on a day shift only, Monday- Friday.

Process/ Technical Skilled Operator Responsibilities:
- Setting up and operating different machines, running and monitoring the output of machine tools, a highly automated manufacturing cell or process manufacturing or automated packaging machines
- Working on or monitoring the output of an automated assembly line or assembly station
- Know the manufacturing process in great detail, troubleshooting at an appropriate level and involving senior members of staff if/when they are not able to correct the problem
- Monitor and check the product quality as they will be responsible for identifying when the process is deviating from the norm and taking action to correct it
- Maintain accurate and clear documentation that proves that manufacturing is being carried out in accordance with both internal and external quality systems or regulations
- Keep equipment in good working order by performing regular inspection, cleaning, servicing along with routine and preventative maintenance to make sure the machine or process never breaks down
- Keep maintenance logs for all of the machines or process they oversee, which requires proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software
- Provide regular productivity reports, and incident reports if an accident occurs
- Apply lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste in the production process or apply six sigma to reduce output variation
- Follow strict internal protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as well as following current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
- Oversees the labour of individuals manufacturing a product in a factory or industrial workplace
- Organises and monitors workflow on the production floor - Looks improve employee efficiency to maximise production output and profits
- Ensures production floor is clean and safe for all staff members
- To maintain the product flow, integrity and traceability throughout the production process
- To organise the daily / weekly production schedules against orders supplied
- To organise daily / weekly cleaning
- Develops and implements production policies and procedures
- Delegates manufacturing tasks so that team can meet production deadlines
- Manages the efforts of manufacturing workers on the production floor
- Communicates expectations to production workers and appraises their performance
- Educates production team members about preferred occupational health and safety practices
- Establishes priorities to ensure manufacturing team works most efficiently
- Checks manufacturing equipment and control points to ensure efficient workflow is maintained - Addresses production problems as they arise
- Organises for the repair or replacement of faulty production equipment
- Evaluates new production equipment
- Reports on team performance to production manager
- Makes recommendations about ways to improve employee efficiency and reduce costs
- Counsels and disciplines production employees who fail to perform or violate company policies
- Implement recommended manufacturing cost reduction strategies
- Nurtures cooperation and communication within production team and other departments
Person Specification:
- Experience within a manufacturing/production background is essential
- A high concern for health and safety standards
- Flexibility in work attitude and an excellent team player
