We represent an extremely successful and expanding Manufacturing Facility with a client portfolio that stretches worldwide. They produce bespoke and innovative products for clients across many sectors.
They wish to make a key appointment for a Manufacturing Shift Supervisor and invite applications from suitably experienced candidates.
Purpose of the Manufacturing Shift Supervisor role:
The main purpose of this role is to control and direct the activity of a team of Production personnel to achieve specific KPIs in line with budget expectation. You will be responsible for ensuring that manufacturing remains a smooth and efficient process by monitoring employees and organising workflows.
Ø Maintain a Safe Working Environment, ensuring that all Environmental Health and Safety requirements and procedures are adhered to, including the correct use of all Personal Protective Equipment and the maintenance of appropriate Housekeeping standards.
Ø Ensure all incidents and accidents are accurately reported in a timely way using the appropriate reporting systems and procedures. All accidents and Incidents must be reported within 4 hours of occurrence.
Ø Ensure the application of Best Practice and always striving for continuous improvement, as well as seeking support and guidance when next steps are not known or unclear.
Ø Ensure the day-to-day supervision and motivation of direct reports to achieve shift and departmental targets in line budget requirements.
Ø Create and maintain an environment of teamwork and participation within direct reports and support groups, particularly Planning, QC and Maintenance.
Ø Ensure adherence to all process control requirements and quality standards.
Ø Manage the adherence to all product Specifications and Good Manufacturing Practices required for compliance with industry standards and customer expectation.
Ø Liaise (as necessary) with the Human Resources support services provider (Peninsula) for guidance & direction on Employee Relations matters, administering the Company’s
Coaching and Corrective Counselling Procedure as advised.
Ø Maintain the Time and Attendance system ensuring that attendance, holiday and absence records are up to date and provide accurate information to pay roll and corrective counselling (as necessary).
Ø Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, policies, procedures and site codes of practice.
Ø Carry out and abide with all reasonable Management requests and instructions
Ø A suitable candidate will have substantial experience in a Manufacturing/Production Supervisory or Management role in a manufacturing facility ideally with experience of working shifts.
Ø Candidates must be target orientated and possess first class communication skills and can work to tight deadlines and under pressure.
Ø MS Office skills.
Ø Organisational and leadership abilities.
Ø Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
Ø Problem-solving skills.
