Manufacturing Manager (Heavy Engineering)

The Role - Manufacturing Manager - Our client is a leader in its field and is now seeking an experienced Manufacturing Manager. You will have worked in a similar role working in a heavy engineering / fabrication / welding environment.

Overall Purpose of the Role: Lead the manufacturing function within budget and output targets to meet customer requirements and standards. Full accountability for ensuring safety, customer quality, cost and delivery requirements are met. Responsible for developing an enthusiastic, motivated and flexible team by building working relationships ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to. Manage the team on best practice and maintain policies and procedures whilst also mentoring and leading teams. Implement and manage continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principals.

Key Responsibilities:

•Effectively and efficiently manage the production of the required targets in line with specifications, meeting quality and delivery expectations, minimising costs where possible and ensure the required best working practices are maintained at all times.

•Responsible for production, meeting customer requirements and maintaining the orderly and productive operation of planned activities.

•Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well being of staff and visitors.

•Manage, coach and develop a high performing manufacturing team.

•Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on Manufacturing activities. Qualifications and Experience Levels:

•Relevant manufacturing/engineering degree is preferred, or HND, BTec Professional Level 5 Award or equivalent NVQ Level 5 qualifications.

•Extensive fabrication level experience with significant proven supervisory experience.

•Technical understanding - undertanding CAD / AutoCad drawings

•Understanding of manufacturing and procurement/supply chain.

• IOSH/NEBOSH, ISO 9001, 18001 & 14001
