Firstly, the business that are in need of a Manufacturing Health and Safety Manager are based in Devon and are a successful and expanding business. They are a Manufacturing business that has a warehouse element also. They supply their products to a variety of customers and have a variety of high spec machines within the facility. They have a flexible approach to their staff and always put them first. They are Health and Safety conscious and want to make sure that the work force is safe and looked after.
The Manufacturing Health and Safety Manager is to be tasked with the overall policies and procedures for the business. That covers Warehouse, Manufacturing and office space. This Manufacturing Health and Safety Manager will be tasked with ensuring the business is covered in all Aspects of Health and Safety whilst keeping in mind Environmental issues that may arise. They will also be in charge of training Health and Safety to a multi-cultural workforce.
• Drive continual improvement of Health and Safety
• Write and maintain EHS policies
• Conduct HSE audits
• Root cause analysis on problem areas
• Communicate with all levels of staff
• Report directly into the MD and Owner of the business
• Ensure all Manufacturing areas are compliant with Environmental, Health and Safety
• Regular presence in all areas of the business
• Ensure EU Directives and UK Law requirements are met with regards to machinery
The ideal person for the Manufacturing Health and Safety Manager will be someone that has spent time as a Health and Safety Manager within a Manufacturing environment and managed the entire Health and Safety policy. They will have a Grad IOSH membership and hold a NEBOSH qualification. One of the main points is the business needs someone that has worked with a multi-cultural workforce and has trained and developed them with regards to Health and Safety. This person will be a keen believer in behavioural Health and Safety and will be able to influence all levels.
