Manufacturing Engineer

We are working in partnership with this Lancashire based manufacturer to really find a talented individual. The company manufacture safety critical equipment into multiple industries. Key Responsibilities;

* Helps determine the manufacturing processes required to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification.
* Works with Engineering to identify problems with product and performance; may recommend solutions or enhancements.
* Assists with plans and designs methods to improve efficiency in production.
* Work to improve equipment availability and capability by utilising continuous improvement tools.
* Define manufacturing standard working methods to meet company, customer and regulatory requirements.
* Ensure a timely and satisfactory handover of process into operations.
* Support teams in both Functional & operational areas.
* Seek out novel solutions for manufacturing processes.
* Work to company and industry standards.
* Improve supply of specified tooling & equipment to Operations at optimal cost.
* Provide functional, cost effective and innovative fixtures, work holding, tooling & gauging - utilise fail-safe techniques as an integral element.
* Helps determine the manufacturing processes required to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification.
* Determine, specify and assist with justifying machinery and equipment.
* Procure to budget, timetable, quality and performance standards and other required criteria.
* Establish and maintain preferred supplier partnerships on equipment, tooling and gauging.
* Work with engineering to identify problems with product and performance; may recommend solutions or enhancements.
* Include operators in activities with specific task responsibility.
* Seek out novel solutions for manufacturing processes.
* Identify areas of potential to improve and identify and agree action plans to accomplish this.
* Be aware of current manufacturing trends and developing processes, machinery and equipment. Maintain and improve health and safety standards.



Key Requirements;

* Ideally you will be a time served CNC Setter/Toolmaker or hold an HNC, HND or Degree in engineering.
* Experience of working with a production team within a machine shop environment
* Exposure to introducing new products into manufacture
* Be able to navigate Autodesk Inventor (training will be provided.)

Hours of work are days, 08:30 to 17:00 Monday to Thursday, 08:30 to 13:30 on Fridays. Occasionally you will need to work alternative hours to support shift workers (between 06:00 and 22:00).
