Manufacturing Engineer

SF Group are currently recruiting a Process Engineer for a established manufacturing company in Nottingham.

Summary:

  • Define the work method reference (Participate in creation of SOPs), time per unit and post expectations for Operations (Production, Supply Chain, Quality)
  • Define/calculate then validate with Operations Management the resources and technical need (headcount and process capacity)
  • Implement rules for measuring and monitoring activities/processes (OEE), analyse and report on process and equipment efficiency
  • Support, train and mentor Operations to help to provide accurate Process times and coach and mentor employees on Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques
  • Ensure new and existing processes and procedures are sustained
  • Investigate options to increase process improvement and automation, and lead and manage improvement projects
  • Pro-actively encourage and demonstrate positive ergonomic and safety initiatives

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Industrial Engineering or Continuous Improvement
  • Recognised expertise in Industrial Engineering / Continuous Improvement, including the use of best practice techniques
  • Experience in application of Lean Manufacturing techniques, driven by continuous improvement
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work co-operatively within a team
  • High standard of numeracy, oral and written communication skills
  • High level of accuracy in work undertaken and attention to detail
  • Excellent MS Excel, Word and Outlook ability
  • Expertise in Problem Solving Techniques and Work Measurement techniques (MOST, time studies, Group Timing Techniques)

Desirable Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • 5 years' experience in Industrial Engineering or Continuous Improvement
  • Formal Lean/Six Sigma Qualification
  • Experience with ERP systems
