REED’s Midlands’ Engineering Team are currently working with a national Engineering business who manufacture high end products for the retail market. Their products are constantly going through redesign and redevelopment as they look to stay ahead of the game and at the top of their industry. The company are looking to recruit a Manufacturing Engineer to join their Design Team to help with this process.
Based just outside of Warwick, this Engineering and Manufacturing business have a long history of producing state of the art products and have developed throughout the years, creating a range of modern products along with their more familiar styles.
The role of the Manufacturing Engineer will be to work closely with the Design Team and help to produce and introduce new products to their line and also innovate existing products to solidify their market leading name.
Having a hands on role on the shop floor, you will be working as part of a team to design and develop products and features; providing technical guidance and dealing with issues as they arise.
Throughout this process you will have to be analytical and take into consideration targets including costing and quality and be prepared to take a step back to take two steps forward if necessary.
There will be a need to utilise manufacturing principles such as FMEA to ensure correct decisions are made and risks are minimised.
You will also have to seek product approval from external authorities and ensure that each product adheres to regulations, some generic and also some quite specific too.
Products will have Electrical and Gas aspects to them, therefore it is always necessary to conduct actions with Health and Safety in mind.
This role would ideally suit someone who has worked within a manufacturing environment or within an Engineering company, in either a Design, New Product Development or Process/Production role.
You should hold a recognised Engineering Qualification in a relatable field, something that will give you blueprint to build upon and have some practical experience too.
Ideally for this role you will have demonstrable experience working with Electrical and/or Gas based products and also have knowledge of different fuel types.
This is a role where you will be working collaboratively as part of a team, so a flexible approach to working with others is needed.
To succeed you will need to have a proactive and resilient mind frame to combat challenges and issues that arise throughout the process and have the drive to succeed to overcome them.
