Job title: Mandarin speaking Head of Finance and Accounting - Banking
Salary: to £170K + benefits
Reporting to: President
Location: Central London
·Oversee the Accounting function of the organisation and the day-to-day transactional accounting of the business.
·Responsible for the management of the Branch’s liquidity or, where a liquidity waiver is in place, the submission of information to the PRA on the firm’s liquidity position.
·Responsible for the production and integrity of the Branch’s financial information and its regulatory reporting in respect of its regulated activities.
·Drive the financial planning of the company by analysing its performance and risks.
·Retain constant awareness of the company’s financial position and acting to prevent problems.
·Provide strategic advice and guidance on opportunities, financing, forecasting, and cash flows.
·Outline the policies, standards, methodologies, limits and procedures forming the framework for liquidity risk, management accounting, regulatory and tax risk management in the Branch.
·Provide daily MI on the liquidity risk profile of the Branch to senior management and the relevant departments.
·Provide monthly MI and reporting any material risk matters to committees or members of the senior management team in a timely manner.
·Report any material accounting, regulatory or tax risk matters
·Review the Branch liquidity, accounting, regulatory and tax risk frameworks with HO.
·Advise on the accounting and tax risk requirements of any new businesses or new products.
·Ensure all recommendations made with respect to finance are consistent with HO requirements as well as meeting all applicable UK regulatory requirements.
·Corporate Planning: Planning and creating budget, with understanding of the forecast of profit and expense. Be able to manage achievement and analyse any differences with the plan.
·Ensure all monies received and expended are accounted for correctly in accordance with regulations and current Government legislation.
·To be responsible for all statutory reporting, compliance, annual accounts and VAT, including SORP, SOFA.
·Undertake risk appraisals of projects and accurate project/management reporting.
·Manage the annual audit process in conjunction with the appointed auditors to ensure statutory accounts are produced within the required deadlines.
·Experience at Finance Manager / Director level.
·Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
·Strong knowledge of wholesale banking products and UK banking regulatory frameworks.
·Significant demonstrated experience of preparation of management and annual accounts, business analysis and management information and the development, maintenance and monitoring of management information systems and procedures.
·Strong organisational and planning skills, including the ability to juggle multiple tasks. Communication & interpersonal skills, strong leadership and management experience.
·An analytical mind with excellent problem-solving and mathematical ability.
