The role:

The Managing Consultant role is a rewarding position for proven Principal level Consultants who are now wishing to pursue a career and cut their teeth in Management. The Managing Consultant will have demonstrated exemplary habits in all aspects of the recruitment process, passing on these skills to junior team members through ongoing coaching and development.

In addition to this, the Managing Consultant will remain in control of a client portfolio and continue to service their recruitment needs. This is a highly valued position within the business, and in addition to your day to day responsibilities, you will be expected to provide feedback to Senior Management and support them to achieve the Company objectives and contribute to overall business strategy.

The Managing Consultant will be responsible for a mixture of consultants ranging from Senior’s to entry level Trainee’s. As remuneration for the additional management responsibilities the MC will receive an override based on team performance in addition to income generated from their own billings. No targets are set in relation to personal KPI performance; however, the MC will be expected to ensure each individual team member consistently achieves individual performance targets & KPI’s, and ultimately team billings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the performance of a team of consultants and lead them to achieve individual and team targets
  • Continue to service a portfolio of clients and achieve set billings targets
  • Monitor individual performance and identify potential training areas for improvement
  • Proactively teach team members recruitment best practice and consistently lead by example in these areas
  • Chair regular team meetings to give areas of focus and motivation to the team
  • Actively address any underperformance within the team with relevant coaching and training
  • Ensure consultants are operating in the "Heat Way" with regards to their recruitment processes, to maintain consistency and best practice
  • Seek to continuously develop your technical understanding of your sector and relay this information to the team
  • Monitor and manage KPI performance across the Team and utilise performance MI to address areas of improvement
  • Report to Senior Management on a monthly basis with regards to Team and Individual performance, with an action plan on how to maintain and improve upon existing results
  • Act as a Technical referral point within the business for junior members of staff
  • Conduct monthly 1-2-1 meetings with team members
  • Communicate Company vision and strategy, pass on company values and ethics and ensure everyone acts in the best interest in the Company reporting on any errors of judgment
  • Assist when required in the induction training of Trainee Recruitment Consultants
  • Understand legislation within the recruitment market that directly affecting the business
  • Take an active role in developing business processes with Senior Management
  • Recruit and interview new consultants seeking to join Heat Recruitment
  • Actively cross sell the other specialist divisions within the business, to new and existing clients
  • Organise and attend networking events and positively promote the Heat Recruitment brand

  • Proven ability to meet and exceed personal billings targets at Management Consultant level

  • Well-organised, focused, accurate and with good attention to detail and the ability to prioritise both your own and other team members work
  • Strong communicator and able to clearly convey expectations to team members
  • Ability to forge strong relationships

  • Possess the ability to build Best Working Practice and teach the correct processes as per the Company guide
  • Ability to handle complaints where required and participate in large scale problem solving
  • Confident with the ability to conduct meetings, lead from the front, assimilate complex information and explain in simplistic terms to produce the best results from your Team
