Managing Quantity Surveyor

Due to an increase in awarded work on their framework with Network Rail a civil engineering main contractor with are seeking to appoint a Managing Quantity Surveyor to complement their growing team.

The project, valued at £30M is the construction of a new Crossrail linked station.

Working out of offices in Central London this role presents a fantastic opportunity to work on a five year framework on civils and rail projects from early feasibility studies to client handover.

This presents an excellent opportunity for Managing QS looking to break into the lucrative and buoyant rail sector.


The Role

Reporting to the Commercial Manager and managing a team of five you will be responsible for pre and post contract duties including:

Engaging with client at early feasibility stages

Formulating supply chain including establishing preferred supply chain and sub contactors.

Working along side design teams

Agreeing governance and procedures

Producing target cost for delivery

Formulating and agreeing contracts under NEC conditions

Engaging with supply ensuring best value is achieved

Working closely with the client and carrying out regular project review meetings.


Experience Required

Suitable applicants will be educated to BSc Quantity Surveying and will have gained experience working on civil engineering or rail contracts under NEC terms and conditions. You will be able to demonstrate having worked as the commercial lead in the delivery of projects valued between £25-£40M
