Manager - Property Fund Finance

The Opportunity

An opportunity has arisen within the Internal Funds team in Property Fund Finance and involves providing accounting, financial reporting and oversight services in relation to the directly-held UK real estate assets which M&G manages on behalf of Prudential plc.

You will be responsible for:

Review of quarterly financial reporting and disclosures under IFRS and FRS102 for approximately £7 billion of UK property assets in the Prudential Life Fund for submission to the Prudential UK&E Finance team using the HFM system.
Management and review of the provision of data and financial reporting to Prudential UK&E Finance and Data Management teams to support compliance with Solvency II. This includes reporting asset data to tight quarterly deadlines.
Review of monthly trial balance reporting and quarterly additional disclosure information under IFRS and FRS102 for approximately £2 billion of UK property assets in the Annuity Funds (covering 7 funds and 3 limited companies) for submission to the Prudential UK&E Retirement Income Finance team.

Accounting and Oversight
Review of monthly financial controls performed by Senior Associates and review of quarterly financial data, including challenging numbers and detailed analytical review.
Ensuring compliance of the financial reporting processes with the Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) legislation, and evidencing of completion of SOX controls; and with Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) legislation.
Review and improvement of existing reporting processes to enhance the robustness of procedures and controls, especially in relation to SOX and SAO requirements.
Implementation of changes in accounting and/or reporting requirements resulting from Prudential initiatives.

Team Management
Line management responsibility for a team of two Senior Associates

Ensuring adequate cross-training is in place within the team, and across the wider team, to allow cover for periods of absence and flexibility in the management of peak workloads.
Provision of cover to Managers responsible for the financial reporting for other parts of the Prudential's property portfolio.

What we are looking for:
ACA/ACCA qualified accountant (or equivalent)
Strong technical knowledge of UKGAAP and IFRS
Statutory financial accounting experience
Real estate financial accounting experience
Experience of supervising staff
Self-motivated with a diligent and detailed approach to completing tasks
Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills
Strong analytical skills with ability to understand, question and challenge a range of financial data
Confidence to communicate effectively with a range of internal and external parties
Flexible and proactive approach
Excel skills (to advanced level is desirable)
Working knowledge of Yardi Voyager system is an advantage
Working knowledge of HFM reporting system is an advantage
This will be a highly visible role so requires someone with an approachable personality, strong focus and first class communication skills.
