The Job

This is not your normal hum-drum (boring) company and as such this Management Accountant job is not going to be right for everyone. If you don't want to know the CEO on a first name basis, to work in an office where there is always lots going on and with a great company sense of humour then this is not the company for you. If the idea of a supportive environment, a company which will listen to and implement your ideas and a focus on employee enjoyment appeals to you then read on!

You will have overall responsibility for the preparation of the monthly management accounts, ensure that accounting records and reconciliations are accurately completed, development of the P&L reporting and will also have responsibility for the control and improvement of managing a fixed asset register, forecasting, modelling and reporting.

The Fit

You will have excellent experience working within an industry position which has allowed you to gain experience within the delivery of monthly accounts and maintenance of schedules, reporting. Statutory returns as well as VAT submissions.

Ideally you will be CIMA / ACCA qualified, or will be in the final stages of getting your qualification. You will have exceptional IT skills and will be confident working with the Microsoft Office suite, in particular Microsoft Excel. In terms of accounting package, my client uses Sage and experience of working with this system would be a distinct advantageous.

Data analysis will interest you, you will want to understand and extrapolate the data and turn the raw data into useable information which will be used to drive improvement for the business. Trend analysis is vital.

You must have tenacity and will have a very positive outlook. As this is a growing company you will often be working closely with colleagues who do not work within the finance team, therefore you will be able to explain sometimes complex financial information and processes in layman's terms to allow broad understanding. You will be competent writing formal letters and emails and will have an excellent telephone manner. As part of your role you may have the opportunity to guide more junior colleagues, however this position does not have reports into it. You will be adaptable, passionate and motivated. My client is looking for someone who is seeking a career, not a stop-gap.
