Management Accountant

Position Expectations

To maintain the financial records of the business and assist the Financial Controller in providing a complete, timely and accurate financial reporting function to Senior Management and the Board. Ensure compliance with HMRC, Internal/External Auditors.

Key Areas of responsibility

  • Assist in the production of the monthly management accounts
  • Ensure all bank accounts reconciled daily, including allocation of customer receipts/supplier payments to source documentation and all other matched to approved documentation
  • Ensure all customer credits are processed within agreed timeline and approved in line with policy
  • Assist in producing the monthly management accounts within agreed timescales
  • Assist the Financial Controller in the production of budgets and revised forecasts
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly EC Sales, monthly Intrastats and VAT returns on a quarterly basis and any other statutory reporting requirements
  • To undertake monthly reviews of all purchase orders raised
  • To ensure that new supplier and customer requests are set up in a timely manner and compliant
  • To assist the Financial Controller in operating and improving internal controls within the finance function
  • Ensure compliance with Internal Audit controls
  • Ensure financial system master files are accurate and current

Suitable applicant will possess the following skills and experience;

  • Will be an accounts generalist and have experience in purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control and statutory returns
  • AAT qualified or qualified by experience
  • Demonstrable experience of working for an international company across multi-sites and multi-currencies
  • Technically proficient, ideally with ERP experience and Excel experience at an advanced level
  • Significant financial controls experience, either from an audit perspective or within a sizable international organisation
  • Excellent report writing skills including the provision of analytical data and commentary
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, a self-starter, motivated and ambitious
  • Be capable of challenging in a constructive and positive manner
  • A good listener and influencer through weight of reasoning and character
  • A positive, can-do and resilient attitude
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Strong organisational, time management and multi-tasking skills
