Management Accountant with ACA/ACCA/CIMA

Job Title: Management Accountant

Reporting to: CEO

Salary: Up to £45,000 plus benefits

A modern, fast expanding consultancy operating in the property and legal sectors require a fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA with excellent accounting knowledge. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Accounts Department, which consists of five staff, along with managing the full accounting process.

You will certainly have:

  • 5 + years previous experience within a similar role
  • Accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Effective management, leadership, coaching and mentoring skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in year-end duties e.g. filing accounts; Corporation Tax returns
  • Experience in corporate secretarial duties
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workloads, sometimes under time pressure, whilst maintaining high attention to detail
  • Must have flexible approach to daily tasks, with ability to self-motivate
  • Excellent communication skills, telephone manner and client relationship experience
  • Solid understanding of accounting software principles
  • You would need to be fully conversant in MSOffice applications, with advanced Excel skills

You will likely have:

  • Had exposure to legal cashiering

Principal Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and analysis of monthly and annual management accounts and budgets to appropriate deadlines and high standards
  • Produce monthly reconciliations ensuring all balance sheet items are accurately recorded and understood including accruals and intercompany amounts
  • Calculating the group management charges and arrange invoicing as well as assisting with intergroup recharge calculations and analysis
  • Maintain and reconcile Fixed Assets registers for all entities ensuring that all items are correctly treated for tax purposes also
  • Preparation and filing of quarterly VAT Returns
  • Preparation and filing of year-end tax computations and statutory accounts
  • Preparation and filing of other adhoc Companies House requirements
  • Ensure all information originating from the finance department is produced in accordance with relevant accounting standards, is robust, timely, accurate, pertinent and efficiently produced
  • Translate detailed financial and other performance information into relevant reports to enable management to make quicker and more accurate business decisions
  • Improve process and work systems to increase reporting efficiencies
  • Ensure process documentation is kept up-to-date to enable others to perform your primary duties when cover is required
  • Manage, lead, coach and mentor members of staff
  • Provide efficient support to the Accounts team and assist with ad-hoc projects as requested by Directors
