Are you a fully qualified Management Accountant looking to work in a challenging new position with a Top 30 accountancy practice firm based in London? Are you looking to work in a well established and growing team, in a challenging and varied new role where you will be given opportunities to learn new skills, work directly with an experienced Finance Manager and have genuine opportunities to progress to a higher level in a short space of time? Do you have experience working internally for an accountancy firm, law firm or professional practice environment? Or are you working in another sector and are keen to gain exposure to a professional practice environment? Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for: producing monthly management accounts as well as monthly packs and commentary / analysis, assisting the finance manager producing the statutory accounts for the practice, monitoring all systems, controls and procedures, assisting with the annual audit, budgeting, producing various reports, VAT returns, corporation tax returns, income statements, balance sheets and other ad hoc tasks as required. Your role will be varied and challenging and you will have a large degree of freedom to carry out your role as you see fit. You will also be responsible for an element of staff supervision to ensure high productivity levels.
To be considered for this interesting new position you must be ACCA / CIMA / ACA / qualified (or qualified by experience) although finalists will also be considered. You must have experience working as a Management Accountant, ideally within an accountancy firm or a professional practice environment although candidates from other sectors will still be considered. You may also be an outsourcing senior already working in practice and now looking to work internally for a large practice firm. It is likely you would have experience of working in a small to medium sized firm, since this position will be very hands on. You must have experience of the above duties (including the preparation of management accounts, assisting with statutory accounts preparation, budgets, income statements, balance sheets and tax returns), work to high standards, be able to meet tight deadlines, and be a team player. Experience of a range of software packages, particularly practice engine and Xero, would be an advantage. Experience of managing other staff, working in a team environment and meeting tight deadlines would also be a huge advantage.
